Casa Pieratti is a stunning restored farmhouse with a large private pool set in 6 acres of private land surrounded by spectacular views of the Umbrian hills.
The spacious, airy house sleeps 6-7 with 3 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It is 15 km from the historic town of Città di Castello.
Restored by designer Alison Dominitz, the house has a very tranquil atmosphere. On the ground floor, there are terracotta tiles and high-beamed ceilings. The sitting room has a large woodburning stove and is a good place for lounging around and reading. French doors in the kitchen lead onto the terrace. Steps outside lead down to a 12-metre saline pool. The double height hall upstairs works as a cinema space at night. Bedrooms are simple and serene. Baths, showers and beds are all high quality. The roof terrace has panoramic views of the hills.
There is parking for 4 cars. Another farmhouse is attached to the back of the house but Casa Pieratti is completely separate and private.
Roberto, the housekeeper, will greet you when you arrive and show you around.
Città di Castello has a twice-weekly market as well as shops and supermarkets. We also know an excellent chef who does cooking classes.
There are some great medieval hilltop towns nearby including Montone and Anghiari. Perugia, Assisi, Arezzo and San Sepolcro are not far. Florence, Siena and Urbino are good for day trips.
